Reviews for KRISHNA INDIAN RESTAURANT, HEADCORN

Krishna's style and aesthetic is different to what you may associate with a curry house, exposed beams and a rustic feel welcome you as you step into the low ceiling mid terrace building. This added to the relaxed vibe of the restaurant with pleasant music and the murmurs of other customers filling the space. We were seated by a very helpful member of staff who then helped guide us through the menu as we discussed our usual order, whilst searching for a Chef Special to try. We selected the Chicken Tikka Labadar, which was exactly as the waiter described and the best of the dishes we ordered on the night. The dining experience at this curry house was generally pleasant, with well-cooked dishes that left little room for complaints. While decent, the Dhansak and Chicken Tikka Masala fell into the middle ground without any inspiring flavours to rave about. The preparation of the dishes was commendable, yet an element was missing from each, leaving a sense of something lacking. A thoughtful gesture from the host included an extra portion of Onion bhajis, adding a nice touch to the meal, though they too fell short of making a lasting impression. For a casual curry night out locally, Krishna hits the mark, but for those seeking a more refined dining experience, it might be worthwhile to explore options beyond the local scene. A group of us were staying in Headcorn recently for a weekend, and decided last minute to see if we could get a table here. There were about 8 of us and it was getting late so we were worried they were closed when we arrived without a booking, but we were welcomed with open arms and settled at a table quickly. The service was excellent from both the owner and wait staff, and drinks and food were soon flowing freely. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious, reflected in practically empty plates by the end of the meal. Personally was one of the best Indian meals I’ve had in a while. Thanks for having us! Vegetarian options: I’m not vegetarian so this wasn’t a major issue for me, but from what I understand from the one vegan/vegetarian at the table, they were very happy.

Update to my previous review, which was only 3*. The staff and management do their best to offer the best they can, i.e. Half price Mondays and buffet Wednesdays. I would say the food is good. But occasionally, they have an off day. And it's good to support local businesses. The staff are very helpful and friendly. For the best service, if you are going to use them often, give them a tip they earn it.

Service and atmosphere at the Indian restaurant was attentive and friendly. As Indian food goes the meals are expensive wherever you visit but for 4 drinks, 2 starters, 2 mains, shared rice, shared naan bread and 1 side for over £70 is really EXPENSIVE. I had a chef special of chana chicken, my husband had chicken madras and both dishes were both so hot and spicy, especially the chana chicken which was rated a 1 🌶 and it was too much and not enjoyable. It was our first date night in over a year and was just a little disappointed with the food that night.

Lovely food from lovely people at the curry house, haven't had the pleasure of eating in the restaurant itself yet, but the people are so nice and welcoming imagine it would be great experience. The food is great, not too greasy, great strong flavours and good portion sizes. Definitely recommended

Honestly the best Rogan Josh I've had in years BUT the reason I put it down a star is because another member of my party ordered a dish advertised as 'really mild' but it still definitely had a kick to it and they struggled to eat it. Rogan Josh was also spicier than normal, but luckily I can handle spice fine. I think they need to be a bit more careful with their spices in dishes advertised as especially mild, in reality those dishes should have 0 spice at all. If you cannot handle spice make sure you specifically tell the staff this I suppose. Monday was also 50% off the entire meal, which was not advertised anywhere and we were really surprised by it, but you will need to book if you are eating out here on that day. Dietary restrictions: Allergic to Coriander and staff were very thorough telling me what dishes did and didn't have Coriander, and were able to make my dish 100% fresh with no Coriander in as requested, which is rare for an Indian place. 10/10 for that.

Great food and friendly service! We came for the Wednesday Buffet and it was delicious… poppadoms with dips and a selection of starters is brought to your table and then you help yourself to the buffet for mains. We were very full after all the food and very hot. Great place but they really need to do something about the heat - invest in some fans or air conditioning please!

One of the best Indian restaurants I have tasted in UK. If any Indians are in the vicinity of this place, kindly visit for yummy scrumptious food. The owner Liz, manager Jyothi and Chefs literally make you feel at home. We went on a Sunday afternoon and they all took additional care in preparing a food for my 4.5 year old kid. The ambience is really awesome with wooden beams and Indian idols streen throughout. Do try their chicken Madras, chilly fish, chicken biryani. Will definitely be coming back again and again.
